At City & County Credit Union we believe in breaking the status quo and pushing stereotypes aside to transform financial dreams into bold realities. We bring the financial know-how of a national banking institution and combine it with relationship-first service to put you in the driver’s seat of your goals.
History
Founded in February 1928, the credit union was chartered after C.J. McGlogan had the idea to bring a credit union to life for the employees of Saint Paul and Ramsey County. Along with the help of Cliff Nystrom, George Sheahan, George Feller, and many others, City & County Credit Union served 201 members and had $4,177 in assets by the end of the year. They established the value that City & County still believes in today, people helping people.
As George Feller once said, “Thousands of loans have been granted, each one telling a different story. Members have been assisted who were about to lose their homes. Vacations, automobiles, clothing, educational courses, and countless other needs have been satisfactorily met through the services of the Credit Union.”
Now with 8 community branches and 5 branches within General Mills employee facilities, City & County Credit Union has over $1 billion in assets and serves more than 60,000 members. With a mission of transforming financial dreams into bold realities, City & County continues to serve its members and community with the convenience of mobile & online banking, financial expertise, and a community-first mindset.
