Park Manor Christian Church Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that exists to serve YOU and not maximize corporate profits. Our function is to offer you a safe place to keep your hard-earned money, and competitive source to meet your lending needs.
History
In 1955, the Christian Men’s Fellowship with some of the officers of our congregation formed a committee and met with members of the Credit Union of Morgan Park Baptist Church. They, along with the Central Credit Union of Illinois, gave invaluable assistance and immeasurable time in the organization of the Park Manor Christian Church Credit Union. We had day, evening, and week-end meetings. Sustained by prayer, we finally had enough shareholders to open the credit union. The original directors had to make sacrifices in time and money. The early years were full of hope and red ink. The volunteer workers, the unselfish officers, and tireless directors worked with a dedication and faith that one finds when people love people. Since its rocky start, many family members and extended family members have benefited from the resources of shareholders who have invested in this organization. In 1955, the PMCC Credit Union was chartered by the State. The Credit Union is still a means toward better security for many. The hope for education, money management and a future for shareholders is still alive and strong.
