Community Trust Credit Union, the second oldest credit union in Illinois, has been committed to serving its members’ financial needs for more than 90 years.
History
Community Trust Credit Union (CTCU) was established on July 18, 1933, originally known as "Warren Township Credit Union”. The credit union was chartered by community leaders during the Great Depression. The initial field of membership was any person living or working in Warren Township (Gurnee, Illinois), along with their family members. Over the 90-year history, CTCU expanded its reach to include residents and employees of Lake and McHenry Counties in Illinois and Kenosha County in Wisconsin.
CTCU has evolved, growing from one to four branches, introducing new products, technology and more. Despite the many changes over the past 90 years, one thing has remained constant – the unwavering dedication to delivering top-notch, personalized service. CTCU takes pride in providing incredible service to their members.
As one of the oldest credit unions in Illinois, CTCU has played an important role in the history, development and growth of the communities it serves. With nearly 14,000 members and $300 million in assets, CTCU continues to uphold its commitment to providing exceptional financial services while remaining a vital part of the community.
