Eastpointe Community Credit Union is a non-profit member owned financial organization. Our goal is to provide the best possible financial services to all the members at competitive rates and to maintain the Credit Union's financial stability.
History
East Detroit Schools Credit Union was chartered on May 24,1950. We began operating out of the East Detroit High School. When our membership started to grow we moved to an office across the street. Loans were approved by a handshake agreement at that time.
We wanted to open up our membership to the community and changed our name on August 15, 2006 to Eastpointe Community Credit Union. You qualify for membership if you live, work worship in the city of Eastpointe or are a Senior Citizen in Macomb County.
ECCU is a low income designated credit union. We have 11 million in assets and 1423 members. We are a small credit union that truly cares about all our members.
