Since its humble beginnings in 1951, Family Savings Credit Union truly has embodied the People Helping People motto by helping members achieve their dreams and by giving back to the communities they serve. Family Savings provides expanded products and convenient electronic services members are searching to find all while keeping the credit union feel of being a small hometown and local financial institution.

History

Our credit union was chartered in 1951 when a group of 7 employees from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company each contributed $5 and created Family Savings Credit Union. What started as a place for Goodyear employees and their family members to save and get small loans for common things such as refrigerators and vehicles, has now become a large credit union offering consumer products, business services and more to its members. They truly demonstrate a family atmosphere for their members and give back to the community supporting many financial education initiatives and charities throughout northeast Alabama and northwest Georgia.
