History

The NAS Credit Union was established in 1948 by Prentice “Jake” Jacob, opened a state chartered, non-profit entity.

In November of 1994, Mr. Jacob retired after nearly 40 years of dedicated service to our membership. In August of 2001, the credit union changed its name from NAS to NAS JRB to be more aligned with the base name. In June of 2022, the credit union changed its name from NAS JRB to Instep to better reflect our membership base. Instep Credit Union has two branch locations in Belle Chasse, LA.
