Located in the city and suburbs of Chicago, NuMark Credit Union (NuMark) makes it its mission to enrich the financial lives of its members and become a lifelong, trusted financial partner helping members turn their dreams into reality. Through building relationships with their members and two mergers in the past 5 years, NuMark now has 13 total branches, and is proud to serve communities in the South and Western Chicagoland areas and Northwest Indiana.
History
Headquartered in Joliet, NuMark Credit Union’s (NuMark) history began in 1954 under the name Earthmovers Credit Union, the official credit union of the Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet (CAT). Earthmovers later became Members Equity Credit Union in 1983, before it merged with Dynamic Credit Union in 1996 and officially changed its name to NuMark Credit Union. The merger between the two credit unions allowed them to expand their charter to the community and provide even more communities in the south Chicagoland area with their financial services and expertise. It was the first merger of equal-sized credit unions in Illinois.
Since the beginning, NuMark employees work tirelessly to provide members with the resources and guidance necessary to help them make the best financial decisions for their needs. NuMark offers a wide array of financial services, from checking and savings accounts for adults and kids, to home and auto loans. Not only does NuMark put a focus on providing financial services for our members, but it’s also committed to financial literacy, so that members can make informed financial decisions that work best for them and their needs.
NuMark’s success as a financial cooperative is largely due to the hardworking people in the communities it serves. It takes the credit union mantra of “people helping people” to heart, with several partnerships with local nonprofits. Two partnerships of note are Wreaths Across America, which they’ve partnered with for 14 years to support military veterans, and the Northern Illinois Food Bank for over seven years, providing food and groceries to community members in need. The credit union has seen immense growth in the past two years, due to its merger with NorthStar Credit Union in 2020 and Pioneer State Bank in 2023. The credit union is looking forward to continuing that growth to provide its exceptional services to even more communities, especially those who are underserved and underbanked.
