History
Port Arthur Teachers Federal Credit Union was organized in February 1953 to serve the employees of the Port Arthur Independent School District. The credit union operated in the homes of the directors for the first 20 years until it purchased the first building. Through the stable location and sound financial planning, the credit union has become an over $35 million institution with over 3,500 members and offers a wide array of services.
Port Arthur Teachers Federal Credit Union has expanded its charter to include a community charter, allowing all that live, work, worship, or attend school in PAISD boundaries to join the credit union.
