Redstone Federal Credit Union is one of the largest federally chartered credit unions in the United States, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, and committed to improving the financial well-being of its members. Founded in 1951 to serve employees of the U.S. Army at Redstone Arsenal, the credit union has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of members across the country. History
Founded on November 28, 1951, by 11 Redstone Arsenal employees with only in a shoebox, Redstone Federal Credit Union (RFCU) has grown into one of the nation’s 25 largest federal credit unions. Based in Huntsville, AL, it now manages over billion in assets and serves more than 650,000 members.

Key Historical Milestones:
1951: Chartered on November 28 to serve Redstone Arsenal employees.
1967: Opened a major branch on Sparkman Drive.
1996: Began maintaining a superior 5-star rating from BauerFinancial.
2018: Recognized as Credit Union of the Year by the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU).
2021–2026: Celebrated 75 years of service, expanding to over 27 branches across North Alabama and Tennessee.
RFCU has expanded from serving only defense employees to offering membership to community members across North Alabama and Southern Tennessee, focusing on financial education and community support.
