History
Shoreline Hometown Credit Union traces its roots back to 1941 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, where it was founded as Hamilton Employees Credit Union. It was created to serve the employees and families of Hamilton Manufacturing Company, offering financial services that traditional banks at the time would not, such as small $5 to $10 loans and safe, trustworthy places to cash and save paychecks.
As word spread about the credit union’s people-helping-people philosophy, membership demand grew. By the 1970s, the organization expanded beyond its original base and changed its name to Shoreline Credit Union, reflecting a broader charter to serve the communities along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Northeast Wisconsin.
To further distinguish itself from other regional financial institutions, the credit union evolved its identity to Shoreline Hometown Credit Union, emphasizing its community-centered values and commitment to members. The “Hometown” brand highlights its focus on local, personalized service, community engagement, and innovative financial solutions. Today, Shoreline continues its founding mission: offering members innovative, people-first financial products and services, and delivering on the promise of Hometown Values. Hometown Rewards.
