History
TopLine was chartered in 1935 when seven employees of the Bell System pooled $35 to create Minneapolis Telco Credit Union, and we’ve been growing ever since. With the breakup of the Bell System in the ’80s, membership was expanded to include additional employee groups. In the 1990's, we converted from a state charter to a federal charter, then expanded our membership reach again in the 2000's. In 2022, TopLine Federal Credit Union converted back to a state charter to expand our field of membership into four additional counties, and changed our name to TopLine Financial Credit Union.
Today, we serve the entire Twin Cities area—with ten branch locations, over $1.1 billion in assets and over 70,000 current members within our TopLine family. Our growing financial cooperative offers membership to individuals and their immediate families who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in the counties of Anoka, Benton, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, Pine, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, Washington and Wright in Minnesota, as well as employees and retirees of Anoka Hennepin School District #11, Anoka Technical College, Federal Premium Ammunition, Hoffman Enclosures, Inc., GRACO, Inc., and their subsidiaries.
